Halal scanner
How do I check a product?
On the Home screen, choose From photo (point the camera at the barcode or the ingredient list), From gallery (use a picture you already took) or From description (type a question such as “Is sushi halal?” or paste the ingredients). Halal Food Bot answers Halal, Haram or Mushbooh and explains why.
How reliable is the result?
The AI reads the ingredients and explains its answer, but photo quality and lighting affect recognition, and some ingredients (like gelatin or E471) can come from different sources. Check the reason, and verify with the manufacturer or an official halal certification when it matters. The app helps you decide but does not replace a qualified Islamic scholar.
The text wasn’t recognised. What can I do?
Take a sharp photo in good light, fill the frame with the ingredient list or barcode, and avoid reflections. You can also type the ingredients using From description.
Where are my previous checks?
In History, on the Home screen. History is stored only on your phone.
Do I need an internet connection?
Yes, halal checks are analysed online. The Quran reader and downloaded surahs work offline.
Quran reader and Quran Radio
How do I listen offline?
Open a surah and tap “Download for offline listening”, or download all 114 surahs from the downloads menu (use Wi-Fi: the full Quran takes a lot of space).
Can I keep listening with the screen off?
Yes. Quran Radio keeps playing when your phone is locked.
How do I get a daily reminder?
Settings → Quran Radio reminder: turn on the daily surah reminder and choose a time. If no notification arrives, check that notifications are allowed for Halal Food in your phone’s settings.
Foodtok
Do I need an account?
Only to post recipes, comment, like and follow creators. Create one from the Foodtok tab with your email; we send a six-digit code to confirm it.
I didn’t receive the code.
Check your spam folder, wait a minute and use “Resend code”. Codes expire after 10 minutes.
How do I report a comment?
Open the comment’s options menu and choose Report comment. A comment is hidden automatically after five reports (a report from the recipe’s author counts as three).
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently deletes your profile, your recipes and the comments on them, your likes, follows and uploaded images. Comments you wrote on other people’s recipes stay unless you delete them first or ask us at contact@malidev.com.
Ads, themes and languages
Why are there ads?
Ads keep Halal Food free and pay for the servers and AI that analyse your scans. Watch a short video to remove all ads for two hours.
How do I unlock the colour themes?
In Settings, tap a locked colour to preview it, then watch a short video to unlock all premium themes for good.
How do I change the language?
Settings → Language. The app is available in 16 languages.
