Read and listen to the Quran on your phone, even offline

Most of us open our phone dozens of times a day. Halal Food puts the Quran in the same place, so a few minutes on the bus or before sleeping can be spent with a surah.

A Quran reader, verse by verse

The Quran tab shows all 114 surahs in Arabic. Pick a surah from the list or search for it by name. Each verse sits on its own card with its number, so it’s easy to keep your place.

• Make the Arabic text larger or smaller with A+ and A−.
• Tap play on a verse to hear it recited, or play the whole surah.
• Turn on Arabic letter colours, a help when learning to read.

Quran Radio: all 114 surahs, one after another

Quran Radio plays the Quran from Al-Fatiha to An-Nas, recited by Mishary Alafasy. It keeps playing when the screen is locked, so you can listen while cooking, driving or walking.

• Skip forward or back by 10 seconds.
• Jump to the next or previous surah, or choose one from the list.
• Press Random to start a surah you might not usually choose.

The Lyrics tab shows the text of the surah that is playing, so you can read along.

Listening without internet

Download a surah with “Download for offline listening”, or download all 114 at once from the downloads menu. The full Quran takes a lot of space, so do it on Wi-Fi. Downloaded surahs then play in the reader and on Quran Radio with no connection.

A daily reminder

In Settings, turn on the daily surah reminder and choose a time. Every day at that time, Halal Food suggests a surah to listen to on Quran Radio. You can change the time or turn the reminder off whenever you like.

Free, in your language

The reader and the radio are free, like the rest of the app. The app itself is available in 16 languages; the Quran text stays in its original Arabic.
